Not all watering apparatuses are created equally and not all plants have the same watering needs. Some plants, like air plants and orchids are epiphytic and appreciate lots of air flow. Meanwhile, other plants, such as pitcher plants, like it boggy and soggy. Then there are the infamous African Violets, which hate being watered from the top and act out when water touches their leaves. A lot of houseplants enjoy bottom watering or watering from the roots, and there are other benefits to it as well, but not every watering can easily help one achieve this.
A lot of watering cans have breakers that help disperse the water like raindrops and that is not ideal in the aforementioned conditions, let alone inside where you have precious flooring. For indoor watering, choosing a watering can with a long, narrow spout can not only help control the water flow, but aim the water right at the soil,
keeping the leaves nice and dry. Aiming the water under the plant also helps reduce the backsplash of water that would otherwise bounce off dense and/or broad foliage.
MVG offers stylish and ideal watering cans that can easily meet these needs. Also, we stock classy misters that are ideal for air plants, and a few new orchid pots for their epiphytic cousins.
