TRACIE: Yes, you will most likely need to cut you butterfly bushes back. It will be easier to determine how far as soon as the new growth starts to come out. They normally start to grow later than some plants, but a soon as they do you will see where they died back. Prune off all the dead top and fertilize with a general purpose granular fertilizer and they should do well this season. MVG Plant Dr.
