: I live in Iowa and would like to grow peaches.(zone5)I had another peach tree and it died. It seemed that when it bore fruit, the weight of the fruit would make the branches break! How do I prevent that in my new tree? Should I prune it someway to make the branches stronger? The previous tree bore a lot of fruit.Do I take off the blossoms?

JOAN: Boy, are you fortunate! To reduce breakage thin the peaches as they start to form, before they get too heavy. Another method is to prop up the branches. I prefer the thinning method. MVG Plant Dr.
