DAVID: In order to "thicken" up the tree it will be necessary to do some pruning and maybe you can do it over time so the plant will not miss the blooming you so enjoy. Randomly prune back some of the branches and a 6 weeks or so later do another prune waiting until the last prune starts to bloom, continue this until the plant is looking the way you want it to look.
