ALYSON: My wife puts them in small juice glass supported by 3 tooth picks which she sticks into the sides of them so they are suspended in the water just at the broad end(pointed end up). The water should be warm, keeping it in a warm area out of direct sunlight. It will take 2 to 6 weeks for roots to form. When the new growth is about 7" long, cut it in half, causing it to branch. When the roots are rather thick and the stem is leafed out, very carefully plant it into a good potting soil into about a 6" pot exposing the uppoer half of the "seed". Have fun with this project.
