: HELP! I am doing a leaf collection as a school project and I have a Pink Dogwood but I need to know some facts about it like what the height of the tree is, how long it lives and the lenght of the leaves. The project is due tomorrow so please e-mail me some info A.S.A.P. Thanks so much!
ASHLEY: The pink dogwood tree is "sport" of the native white dogwood tree that can be found from the Carolina's north into PA and NY states where the soil is acidic. The trees mature at about 30' in height and almost as wide, depending on where they are growing.
In their native areas, where the soil conditions are good, they will live up to 100 years old and older. The leaves are about 3 to 4" long and ovate in shape with a central midrib. The wood is very dense and is used in fine inlay work as it is nearly white in color.
The next time you have a project why not start your search a little sooner, bet you have heard that before! MVG Plant Dr.
