: I had a eleven 3 foot white pine trees planted last fall. Six of them now appear to be dead. The needles have all turned brown. I watered them every week for the first two months and afterwards whenever it was dry out. What causes this? Are they all going to die? The rest don't seem to be growing. (No new little green buds.) Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you, Bonnie

BONNIE: You may have overwatered. After the initial watering watering should only be done if the soil dries out. You may have created a bathtub affect which rotted the roots. If they were planted any deeper than they were originally growing this many times will also set up root rot conditions. MVG Plant Dr.
