I have two grapevines aproximateley fifteen years old each. I decided not to prune them for the first time in about twelve years, and I have more grapes on the vines this year than the last fifteen years combined. I thought that when you did not prune a grapevine, it would not bear much fruit for the year of non-prunning. Would you explain to me what is happening? And how often should I prune? One vine is a Thompson Seedless and the other is a Concord.
Thanks in advance for your assitance.
