: WE LIVE IN SOUTHERN NEW JERSEY. WE HAVE TWO WEEPING CHERRY TREES AND WE ALSO HAVE A FLOWERING CRABAPPLE. WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO PLANT THEM IN VERY SANDY SOIL.
JANA: I'm from the Medford area and know your sandy soils fairly well. They should grow well, use 1/3 to 1/2 good organic matter when planting with a hole that is 2 times the diameter of the root ball you are planting. Water very well at planting and then as the soil dries out.
