: We have a dogwood tree that is growing VERY slowly and has only a few blooms each spring. We see that similar trees are covered with blooms. Every summer we water our lawn quite a bit, and the tree gets watered at the same time. The leaves always turn brown, and the tree appears to be dying. We need advice on how to care for this poor tree. Maybe someone out there can help. Thanks!

We have a pink dogwood with the same characteristics as yours. Be sure it gets the right amount of water, our nursery suggests
if we dont get 1" of rain (or watering) per week to let the hose trickle at the base for about 1/2 hour. Be patient.

We just planted a white dogwood that is a fast grower, it has had considerable growth since we planted early this spring. The branch structure is more 'spread out' than our pink dogwood. You might check around, ours came from Lowe's but they didn't last long, they were 5-6' and cheap.
