: Hey Meadowview I wrote a post 5/15 asking for advice on how to kill off a yucca plant that is growing too close to my back door steps and I have not received any advice from you or anyone to help. I now have lots of small baby plants shooting up to replace the mother plant we thought we dug out last year. The only suggestion I have received is fire which is a little risky that close to the house. I have received numerous emails and post on other sites from people with the same problem and asking me if I have found a solution yet and pass it on to them. So how about some professional help here and do us all a favor, huh? It's not that I hate yuccas but this is definitely a plant that needs to be a long way from doors, steps or anywhere any traffic passes. I certainly don't want a dozen to keep growing where they are sprouting now! PLEASE HELP US ALL WITH THIS PROBLEM ASAP! Thanks.

JANET: I'LL TRY, but give me a break on the May 15th time frame. We can't do much else at that time of the year but to stay with the business demands of the day. But now we can peddle a little slower, so here goes....
Have you tried Round Up or Fanale?? They are both good green plant killers but take a little time and reapplication 2 weeks apart may be necessary. These chemicals will not affect the soil adversley but you must wait until you get kill before removing the plants that are coming up. Follow label directions. Send me a new message with your results, ok? MVG Plant Dr.
