Peach tree leaf drop

I have a several peach trees in my yard that start out fine, but develop yellow leaves that quickly fall off, frequently leaving only a single leaf at the tip of many of the branches. The problem is most severe on lower branches. One other clue is that there are numerous pin-prick holes on many of the leaves (some fall, some don't). This same problem has attacked several varieties of peaches. I spray regularly with general purpose orchard spray, but this does not seem to help. One remote possibility is that I have a severe problem with Japanese beetles on the property and have been told that it might be beetle grubs munching on the roots. I also have several sweet cherry trees that have a similar leaf-yellowing/drop problem, but they don't have the pin-prick holes. These trees are planted among several prolific apple trees that are doing fine, so it's doubtful that soil/sun/water conditions are a problem. Despite numerous blossoms, the pear trees have only a couple of maturing fruit among them. Trees are located in central New Jersey, in an area that is surrounded by woods. Thoughts?
