White Flies &; Aphids on Purple Wave Petunias

I started out with beautiful hanging baskets of Purple Wave Petunias. Recently I have noticed a lot of white flies and aphids and they are turning the foliage brown. I have sprayed with Liquid Sevin. I would like to know if there is something else I need to be doing. Thanks
