: I have a trumpet vine that I have had for probably 5 years and it has yet to get one flower on it. It grows like a vine should but still no flowers. I ordered it out of a magazine, could that be the problem? I've been told by a gardening expert that I reached on a radio talk show that fertilizing it will only make it grow....not bloom. Any help you can give me would be appreciated.

SHERRY: This plant needs full sun to bloom well. If the plant you have was started from a seedling vs. a cutting this could be part of the problem. Cutting grown plants are identical to the parentage while seedlings are not and will usually take longer to flower. The one we planted bloomed the next year. MVG Plant Dr.
