We have 14 Bradford Pear trees lining our driveway and they are approximately 25 years old. They have never been pruned properly and are now splitting during high winds. A local nursery has recommended replacing the trees instead of heavy pruning because they are at they end of their life span. Is this accurate and can you suggest an alternative to replacement?
