: : : : : We have several walnut trees. We are interested in selling these trees. Do you know about how much they are worth. These trees are very old. We live in Iowa.
How old is "very old"? What are they growing in? Are you wanting to sell them for lumber? Sorry, need more info. We are told these trees around 100 years old. They are in a yard. Yes, we are interested in selling them for lumber.
Did anyone ever find an answer on how to sell walnut trees? We live in Illinois and have 3-4 huge ones on our lot too. Interested in selling as well.
I have found out that you measure the trunk 4 and 1/2 feet from the bottom. Then measure the width in inches and multiply that by the length in feet, now if every board were 2" thickness you multiply the number you came up with earlier by one for every for 2" of thickness. That gives you the board feet. To get the going rate call the Forestry nearest you and ask them wat local sawmills are paying or selling them for. A black walnut tree in ohio could sell for any where from $6-$20 and board food which is quite a chunk of change. GOD BLESS AND GOOD LUCK.
