The soil does not need to be as acid as you might think. Visit nursery or garden center and ask for an acidifying shrub fertilizer such as Hollytone or Miracle-Gro Miracid.

More important than the acid is to have organic matter in the soil. Plants will tolerate a wider range of acidity if the soil is rich in organic matter. And remember to mulch your shrubs.

: I received two blooming Azaleas, I have been told they need soil that is high in ACID.

I am not quite sure what I should do to get this ACID, is Vinegar good to put in the soil?
