: I received two blooming Azelas, I have been told they need soil that is high in ACID.
I am not quite sure what I should do to get this ACID, is Vinegar good to put in the soil?
Thank you.
RUFIE: I agree with Steven, no vinegar and the importance of a highly organic soil cannot be over emphasized. The plant you received is very likely a "florist" type of azalea that will only be hardy out of doors in zone 7 to 9 (tropical areas). Enjoy it while it is blooming, you may never see it look so good. Water sparingly, just keeping the soil moist with plain tap water. If you decide to plant it outside in the spring go the organic route as Steven has suggested. MVG Plant Dr.
