: : What is the best way to transplant a rather large,
forsythia bush that has taken over my front yard? I
would like to move it to the back of my house. Any
suggestions?

Pat, if the plant is as big as it sounds it would be better to start over with a new shrub. They are inexpensive and the Dr. bill could be substantial. If you have to move it, wait until next spring, in March before it leaves out. Earl

Earl, Thanks for the suggestion. My husband decided to just trim it "WAY" back and keep it trimmed. He just didn't want to move it.
So now, the forsythia is half the size that it was last week, and we are all very happy about that. It think the forsythia is actually
happy too. It is standing tall and showing off it's beautiful green leaves to the world as they drive by.
