: I live in central Texas & am looking for a fast growing shade tree. I've heard good things about Texas ash and bad about Arizona ash.
I don't want the shallow roots everywhere and heard the Texas ash will fit the bill. However, I've heard the Fan-West ash is the best of both Texas & Arizona ash????
I've looked everywhere & can't seem to find the root "specs" on these trees.
Anyone know the pros/cons of the Fan-West or Texas ash.
Thanx,
David
We live in Texas and we have an Arizona ash. It's a big, beautiful tree (BUT) serveral times a year it drops a needle like leaf EVERYWHERE!. I mean we're talking copious amounts. Unfortunaly, it's next to our driveway and the needles were falling on our cars. I had to have my air condition replaced on one of my cars because of the needles. Other-wise that it's a nice tree.
