: Hopefully this might help. I have also included a link. I was lucky since I recieved my order back in june before the chapter 11 filing. Probably why no one can access their web page. I have also tried their phone numbers and they are always busy..(I presume they are off the hook) Good luck to anyone thathas outstanding orders.

Michigan Bulb Company sells bulbs, perennials, and other assorted plants.

JR Note: July 4, 2001: Foster and Gallagher, Michigan Bulb's parent company, has filed for bankruptcy. An orderly liquidation of all divisions is planned.

More and ongoing details may be learned from the Peoria Journal Star.

I do not recommend hammering the newspaper with questions about any orders that are outstanding. Browse the Internet for information on business bankruptcies or contact a business attorney.

From my own experience with a company that went out bankrupt after cashing my check without delivering my merchandise ($50), there was nothing left for me after the banks got through with the company.

Below is the lead paragraph in the lead story written by Clare Howard of the Peoria Journal Star. The story, dated July 3, is on the newspaper's website. but I got there at 4:00pm EDT today:

"PEORIA - After 50 years of operation and a position of national leadership in direct marketing, Foster & Gallagher Inc. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Delaware on Monday.

The filing comes three days after most of the company's 3,000 employees were terminated on Friday.

According to the court petition, Foster & Gallagher lists more than $100 million in assets and more than $100 million in debt. The company is privately held."

I guess I am not the only one who lost money to Michigan Bulb. I have been trying since May 4th to get a refund on the 21 rose bushes I ordered from them. They were molded and rotten when I received them. All but 2 have died. I guess I can kiss my $125.00 good-bye.....For the record I also ordered roses from Jackson and Perkins this summer. Out of the twelve I ordered 2 died and they promptly refunded my money. Maybe we should all order from J&P.; I know I will in the future. If anyone has any luck getting a refund from Michigan Bulb please let me know..........Thanks, KO
