I have been a loyal customer of Michigan Bulb since 1984. They have always stood by their gaurantee and replaced any and everything I reported! I live in Oklahoma where the weather is always extreme, either to hot and dry or to wet. I have lost a lot of plants because of this. But MB "always" replaced any that i reported to them. I will miss them badly.
I follow directions quite well, that is assuming that I have been given the correct directions. I had no problems with MBC until the last couple of month or so before their closure. Then I started receiving DEAD or near dead plants.
When I called the first time (June) I was able to speak to a customer rep. Although she did credit my account, she was quite snippity and rude about it (yes, I was VERY pleasant with her, despite here attitude).
After the next order arrived (dead) I tried calling and received continual busy signals. I have tried calling a total of 9 different numbers ... all busy except one that continually rings (no answer). Then I find out about the closure through the bulletin board.
Although, all my orders were on the "Buy Now Pay Later" program. I am now being reported to a collection agency for no payment. Mind you this is for all the orders I have never received and I'm sure I will never get.

:I can follow directions and have never had the problems that I have had with Michigan Bulb they are a horrible company and it is no wonder that they are out of business.: : I recently ordered (20) Wall of China Hedges from Michigan Bulb.
I think that all of the people that maybe had trouble with there order looking dead, should read about there specific plant before rushing out to plant them.
Make sure that your soil is in good condition, that you don't fertilize before it is time, and that you water your plants properly.
I have (20) beautiful hedges because I can follow directions.
Maybe if people aren't so quick to judge their plants,
they may find that with alot of love and sweat they too can have a beautiful garden.
Remember, that if you do have problems with your order
be polite on the phone, the person on the other end isn't responsible for everything that has gone wrong with your order. I'm sure that if you are honest and
willing to accept some of the blame, you'll see that getting your refund or replacement isn't that hard.
M. Lewis, Check the Dayton Daily News for the latest about the closing of Michigan Bulb Co., Spring Hill Nursery, and the other Nurseries associtate with these mega mailorder companies.
(www.DaytonDailyNews.com) You will no longer be able to get help from these companies for your plants or plant problems.
We were shocked as many employees have suddenly lost their jobs and retirement. This was effective June 29, 2001. Earl
