MVG is accepting donations for a local outreach program along with a local church group. The program helps youth and families in the Appalachia area during the holiday season. We are collecting donations of food, new toys and new clothing; coats, gloves, shoes, socks, hats, etc. Our hope is to provide each family with a Christmas basket filled with all the food listed below - enough for a nice dinner - and, for the children, a new coat, new shoes and six pair of new socks. Donations are being collected at Meadow View until Friday, November 14th. MVG staff members and the church group will hand deliver these items to Appalachia in December. Anything you can contribute will certainly be appreciated.

As a thank you from MVG, each donation will receive an entry into a drawing for a free poinsettia to be given away December 5, 2014. We thank you for your generosity!

Christmas Basket Shopping List

(Quantities listed are for one basket’s contents. For all canned items, please purchase 14-16 oz cans)

2 cans green beans

2 cans corn

2 cans peas

2 cans yams

2 small boxes jello

2 packets of instant turkey or chicken gravy (No glass jars, please)

$15 for later purchase of bread, dessert and meat (these are purchased once there for freshness)

1 box stuffing mix

1 box instant potatoes

1 can cranberry sauce
