Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden’s
Plant Trials Day
What can you learn about great plants and horticulture from the Curator of Longwood Gardens? Then, what can you learn from the author of one of the most important books on horticulture in years? What if one of the editors at Fine Gardening Magazine who just happened to train at Missouri Botanical Garden and Longwood Gardens, was there too? Add in a top plant breeder who has worked at the Morton Arboretum. For good measure, let’s say Spring Grove’s longest employed Horticulture Manager had 50 minutes to tell you about their best successes? Last but not least, what if we finished the day with a talk by the Zoo’s own Director of Horticulture with an all new talk that takes him into uncharted territory? I know a lot of great horticulturists. I bet any of them would learn plenty at such an event.
That event, the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden’s Plant Trials Day will be held August 18th from 9AM-6PM. It includes all that, Zoo admission, parking, lunch, snacks, and the Heidelberg sponsored Happy Hour afterwards, where you can hang out with the speakers. Oh, and for the first time ever: The Best Plants Blitz: The Game Show! Watch as the speakers stick their necks out with plant suggestions while subjecting themselves to the yeas or nays of the other speakers.
All in all, an inspiring, educational, and fun day!
